28 Nov (Tuesday) 7pm – 9pm

STANDING & BALANCING : Keep your feet on the ground & your head in the clouds.

Our feet connect us to the earth and are central to our ability to balance. In this class we look at our feet and see how they are helping or hindering us in both standing and balancing. Standing poses are the perfect way to gain the strength and flexibility in the legs, hips and spine, which are needed in order to take our Yoga practice to the next level. Once we feel grounded, we can explore balancing postures, which give us an opportunity to observe our ability to stay ‘centred’, even when the world around us shifts and changes.

29 Nov (Wednesday) 7pm – 9pm

ARM BALANCES & INVERSIONS– Fly like a bird and turn your world upside down

Balancing on our arms gives a feeling of freedom, joy and strength that can flow through into the rest of our lives. It helps us to feel we can achieve what we once thought was impossible. And what better way to give our belief systems a shake up, than in a controlled environment where we literally turn our world upside down? In these somewhat disorientating positions, we need to keep our breath and our mind calm and steady – a wonderful preparation for life.

30 Nov (Thursday) 7pm – 9pm

PLAYFUL SHAKTI - Exploring your full potential

We will put together everything we’ve learned in the previous classes and add to it creative variations on traditional poses. This is a Vinyasa-style class, where after an initial loosening up, we will move through traditional and challenging postures in a strong, flowing, and playful way. Expect to approach your full potential as we explore arm balances, inverted postures, twisting, standing and bending poses. The true aim and most challenging part of the class is keeping our mind and breath steady as we put all together. We will finish the class with some time spent quietly exploring our inner world.

General Advice:

The classes are suitable for both male and female students with no major injuries. While the classes will be highly informative to students who have had little experience in Yoga, advanced students will also be catered for. The classes can be taken individually. However, to gain the most out of the workshop, it is advisable to take more than one class, as themes will be built on and utilized throughout the 3 days. Each class will include some pranayama, meditation or kriya awareness. Note: Kriyas are psycho-spiritual energy awakening and cleansing practices, which are very useful for those with restless minds; which means most of us. The classes may be strong at times, without being hyper-active (rajasic).
