Class Types & Descriptions


Asana & Pranayama

"Asana" means posture and "pranayama" means breathing techniques in Sanskrit. For this class, various asanas and pranayamas of yoga are practiced, which will help to detoxify, de-stress and boost one’s energy for good health and vitality. Suitable for beginners. 
 

Ashtanga Led

The system of Yoga taught by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois in Mysore, India. This method of Yoga involves synchronizing the breath with a set sequence of postures, which produces intense internal heat and a profuse, purifying sweat that detoxifies muscles and organs. The result is improved circulation, a light and strong body, and a calm mind. There are 3 durations of classes available – 60 minutes, 75 minutes and 90 minutes.

For the 60 minutes class, it features postures from the first half of the primary series as well as the finishing set of postures. It is a dynamic and vigorous practice that focuses on maintaining the awareness of flow which links breath and movement.

For the 75 minutes class, the first half of the Primary Series is taught up to Navasana, followed by the finishing set of postures.

For the 90 minutes class, the whole Primary Series is taught in its traditional sequence. It includes sun a salutation, standing, seated and inverted poses. Endurance and a graceful flow are developed as asanas are weaved through vinyasas. Previous Ashtanga yoga experience strongly recommended in order to benefit from this class.

 

Ashtanga Yoga

A unique system of yoga that emphasizes proper diet, effective asanas (postures), pranayama (breathing), mudras & bandhas (gestures & locks), dharana (concentration) & dhyana (meditation) to detox, destress and increase your vitality. Prior experience in Hatha Yoga (Beginners) is encouraged to fully benefit from this class.
 

Beginners' Yoga

Beginners’ Yoga is an ideal class for those who have never done yoga before. It is a good introduction to Yoga, using basic and gentle stretches that work every part of the body. Suitable for beginners.
 

Belly Dance

The oldest form of dance having roots in all ancient cultures from the Orient to India to the Middle East . Our Belly Dance, is an updated form of the original Belly Dance, which incorporates more calculated and sensuous body coordination. It often focuses upon isolating different parts of the body, moving them independently in sensuous patterns. The class is perfect for any age group or interest level, using all of the body's muscle groups and enhancing the dancer's flexibility, isolation, confidence, creativity and sense of rhythm. Bollywood Dance

A vibrant and entertaining dance that gives a whole body workout! While dancing to the infectious beat of Bollywood music, all parts of your body are exercised, from your hands, to your feet, to your hips, right down to your facial expressions. Come and join the rhythm of joy for an introduction to the blissful nature of Indian Bollywood Dance. Suitable for beginners
 

Cardio & Core Yoga

A dynamic & energetic form which basically stimulates core parts in our body. It physically and mentally challenges the practitioners to connect to an inner power. Core Yoga helps heal, detoxify and rouse the body and mind. It mostly emphasis on abs, back, hips and pelvis.
 

Desi Pop

In a blend of cultures, our Desi Pop class provides a whole body workout while combining the sensuous and graceful movements of Indian dance with the adrenaline of modern hip hop. Suitable for beginners.

 

Ethnic Yoga

Developed by True Yoga’s Master Adinath Chowdhury, Ethnic Yoga is one of the purest forms of traditional Indian yoga originating from the philosophical teachings of renowned Indian Yogi Sri Aurobindo. It encompasses a combination of Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutation), Pranayama (breathing techniques), Asanas (postures) and Dhyan (meditation). Practicing Ethnic Yoga cleanses and purifies the body, boosts energy levels, increases flexibility, strength, power, agility and grace, as well as calms the mind. 
 

Fusion Dance

A powerful combination of cardio vascular exercises with a fusion of East & West dance movements, while dancing to the beat of modern Indian music. This fun filled workout comes in Series 1, 2 and 3. Suitable for all levels.
 

Gentle Yoga

This style of yoga is suitable for beginners. 

It is far less strenuous than other forms of hatha yoga. It is beneficial to you who are already quite fit but lack the overall flexibility to be able to do more intense yoga poses. Gentle yoga accomplishes its goals of providing a workout without putting any unnecessary strain on you.

 

Hatha Flow

Links traditional Hatha postures into a sequence of movements that flow naturally from one to the next. This eclectic class will explore variations of sun salutations, standing and seated poses along with body balancing. Modifications will be provided for postures to enhance flexibility, alignment and strength to make this class accessible for all. Connecting the breath with the movement of the body during the “flow” of yoga and deepening into the stretch allows energy to flow and provides relaxation for the busy mind.
 

Hatha Sadhana

It is a form of of Hatha Yoga consisting of Pranayama, Meditation, Arm Balancing, Inversion, Twisting and Bandhas to maintain all round personality. It is good for all level!
 

Hatha Yoga

Beginner and intermediate classes are available. Poses ranges from novice-level to those that can challenge even an experienced practitioner. 

It combines physical exercise and mental discipline, with the goal of integrating and invigorating both body and mind. It has been shown that Hatha Yoga reduces stress, improve balance and flexibility, increase strength and reduce the risk of injury in daily life. It can reduce heart rate and blood pressure, and can help manage chronic diseases. Its psychological benefits can assist in weight loss by helping you to control appetite.

 

Hot Flow

Hot Flow is done in a Hot Yoga Studio where postures are done in a series of flowing movements, working out the cardiovascular system, starting off with breathing techniques and simple stretching to warm up the body, it progresses to the sun salutations and various standing postures such as warrior, the chair pose and standing forward bending amongst many others. Benefits of Hot Flow include increased stamina and flexibility, better mental focus and improved circulation and digestion.
 

Hot Yoga

Hot Yoga is a series of yoga poses and breathing exercises done in a heated room at 37 degrees. The postures are designed to systematically cleanse every part of the body and to provide a complete mind/body workout. The heated room promotes sweating which helps rid toxins from the body while loosening and stretching the muscles to prevent injuries. Hot Yoga improves circulation, increases metabolism, regulates digestion, strengthens the immune system and burns fat. Prior experience in Hatha Yoga (Beginners) is encouraged to benefit fully from this class.
 

Kid's Combat

For children aged 4 ~ 12years old, Kid’s Combat is taught using fun-filled combat movements. It is a game of defence where children can learn self-defense moves, improve their concentration and motor skills, while having a great workout!
 

Kid's Yoga

Specially designed for children aged 6 ~ 11 years old, Kid’s Yoga helps to promote the physical and mental growth for children. Not only does it improve the general flexibility and sense of balance of the child, the yoga postures help to stimulate the organs and glands, which improves blood circulation, lung capacity and mental concentration.
 

Lunar Flow

A complement to the Solar Flow Yoga (sun) practice, Lunar Flow Yoga (moon) is a sequential flowing practice that honours our receptive nature. Lunar refers to the calming, slower-paced, internal poses that are appropriate for any time of day—especially when you are seeking a soothing, rejuvenative practice. It brings about inner reflection and restores equanimity and peace to the bodymind. An excellent practice for those seeking a gentle flow to their yoga practice. Suitable for all levels.  
 

Pantanjali Yoga

Pilates Matwork

Pilates teaches balance and control of the body. It improves one's posture and balance. It also helps to increase one's strength and flexibility, particularly of the abdomen and back muscles. Suitable for beginners.

 

Power Yoga

Power Yoga consists of a dynamic flow of asanas (postures) combined with powerful breathing exercises that works the body, breathing and mind. Through this cardiovascular and yoga workout, calories are burnt. In addition, it builds strength and endurance, resulting to a slimmer, stronger, toner and flexible body. Prior experience in Hatha Yoga (Beginners) is encouraged to fully benefit from this class.
 

Pragya Yoga

PRAGYA YOGA comprises of a sequential range of 16 postures including the standing forward bend, cobra pose, and chair pose amongst others. Coupled with deep breathing techniques, this simple form of yoga can be easily practiced by anyone!
 

Pranayama & Meditation

Focuses on breathing techniques to help relax your mind & body. A great way to increase energy & relieve stress & tension. Suitable for all levels.
 

Pre-Natal Yoga

For pregnant women in their fourth to eighth month of pregnancy. Pre-Natal Yoga is a safe form of yoga that helps to improve the general flexibility of the body and to strengthen the pelvic muscles, which is the core muscle used during delivery. It improves blood circulation in the body and also stimulates the organs and glands. This helps to reduce high blood pressure, which some expectant mothers may experience during pregnancy.
 

Sivananda Yoga

Another form of Hatha Yoga which consists of a series of 12 basic poses: Headstand, Shoulder-stand, Plow, Fish, Seated Forward Bend, Cobra, Locust, Bow, Half Spinal Twist, Crow, Standing Forward Bend and Triangle. Great for those who need a change in their workout routine.
 

Solar Flow Yoga

A dynamic, revitalising and strengthening practice with the invigorating energy of the sun. Likened to a dynamic dance, postures or asanas are connected through the breath for a transformative and balancing effect. This class activates "tapas" ~ transformational heat in the body, burning away that which obscures being. Suitable for all levels.
 

Sun Salutation Series

It generates heat to cleanse your mind and body. It gets your heart pumping, increases your blood circulation and takes your body through a full range of motion. The standing poses grounds you and helps you build body awareness. The other poses elongate your spine, stretch your hamstring, cleanse your digestive system and calm your nervous system. The poses also engage the muscles in your arms, shoulders, chest and abdomen, ensuring you a total body workout.

 

Traditional Yoga

Using the traditional yoga concepts for standing, sitting and lying postures, Traditional Yoga is an energetic form of yoga. It encompasses poses from the Sun Salutation series, other asanas and pranayamas which provide a good cardio workout. Prior experience in Hatha Yoga (Beginners) is encouraged to fully benefit from this class.
 

Vinyasa Yoga

“Vinyasa” means flow in Sanskrit. As the name suggests, this yoga class consists of a powerful series of flowing and jumping movements. Great for the cardiovascular system and builds strength and endurance.  Other benefits include detoxification, balancing of the hormones and reducing one’s weight. For the practitioner who is looking for a more challenging workout. Prior experience in Hatha Yoga (Beginners) is encouraged to fully benefit from this class.
 

Yin Yoga

A quiet yet profound style of yoga based on the expression of theories derived from Chinese Medicine and Taoism. Yin Yoga uses long-held relaxed floor postures to stretch and stimulate the deep connective "Yin" tissues of the body. Accessible to practitioners of any tradition and any experience level, this practice strengthens chi flow and maintains the health of the meridian system of the body, and is the ideal complement to dynamic, muscular or "Yang" forms of yoga.
 

Yoga Basic

This is a beginner class suitable for those who have no prior yoga experience. 

The class starts with basic breathing (Pranayama) techniques to calm the mind. Proper alignment of basic yoga poses are explained and demonstrated in depth.  It prepares your body for more advanced yoga poses.

 

Yoga Dharana

It is an authentic yogic postures to tone calf and thigh muscles, improves balance, co-ordination, pre-poception of the joints and moon meditation to cool body and mind and it rejuvenates. It is good for all level!
 

Yoga Fitness

Developed by True Yoga’s Master Binulal Thekku Veettil, Yoga Fitness is a full-body workout that incorporates a range of traditional postures such as the warrior pose and chair pose, with challenging arm balances and core exercises. Intended to keep your heart rate at a constant pace to increase cardiovascular endurance, the postures in Yoga Fitness also targets specific muscle groups such as your abdominals, quadriceps and deltoids amongst others to build muscular strength and improve flexibility. Suitable for intermediate level.
 

Yoga Sahaj

"Sahaj" means Easy. In this class we do easy stretches & it is a relaxing class for all ages!
 

Yoga Stretch

Yoga Stretch uses the concept of using yoga postures to fully stretch the body. In doing so, it helps to improve the flexibility of the body and stimulate the glands. Other benefits include muscle toning and loosening of the joints, which are ideal for those who are not flexible or have sports injuries. Suitable for all levels.
 

Yoga Tapas

“Tapas” in Sanskrit means “heat”. In the yogic tradition, this translates to the effort of bodily purification and mental clarity. Yoga Tapas strengthens both the physical and mental state through the practice of self-discipline. It improves strength, endurance, flexibility, balance and coordination, while simultaneously increasing concentration, memory power and reducing stress. Suitable for all levels.
 

Yoga Therapy

This class is suitable for all levels of yoga practitioners. 

Yoga therapy adapts and applies Yoga techniques and practices to help those who face health challenges at any level to manage their condition, reduce symptoms, restore balance, increase vitality and improve attitude. It focuses on the path of Yoga as a healing journey that brings balance to the body and mind through experiential understanding of primary intention of Yoga; awakening of Spirit, our essential nature.

 

Yogalates

A complete and comprehensive fusion of Yoga and Pilates. It is a movement system that stretches and strengthens all major muscle groups developing a streamlined slenderness rather than bulk. This promotes "core stability" which enhances spinal/pelvic awareness, protecting the spine against injury whilst supporting the internal organs and promoting good posture.
